Andrea Chávez does not rule out seeking the presidency of the Senate

MEXICO CITY (apro) .- Andrea Chávez, spokesperson for the Morena parliamentary group in the Senate, did not rule out presiding over the Senate's Board of Directors, but stated that for the moment her attention is on the State of Chihuahua.
In an interview with the Senate, the Morena member explained that she will release a statement announcing her decision in the coming days.
"I've already told you that my attention is completely focused on the state of Chihuahua, and there's no way we can back down from that task. I'll be sharing a statement soon with my decision, but stay calm, we're still in talks with the parliamentary group," he explained.
On August 31, Gerardo Fernández Noroña will step down as president of the Senate's Board of Directors. The legislator has ruled out seeking reelection and has stated that he wants to return to his seat so he can debate freely.
Fernández Noroña also reported that the Senate's resolutions stipulate that the next head of the Board of Directors will be a senator.
