Cell Phones Compatible with Starlink Satellite Internet from July 2025: Complete List

The arrival of direct satellite internet to smartphones marks a turning point in mobile connectivity. Starting July 15, 2025, SpaceX will launch the Starlink Direct to Cell service, allowing millions of users around the world to connect to the satellite network from their own cell phones, without the need for external antennas or additional devices.

Elon Musk's company has confirmed that compatibility will cover a wide range of Android and iPhone models, as long as they have 4G LTE connectivity or higher. This advance promises to reduce the digital divide, providing internet access in rural, mountainous regions, or areas without traditional terrestrial network coverage.

Starlink Direct to Cell technology leverages low-orbit satellites to send signals directly to phones' LTE modems, using frequency bands approved by each country's regulatory authorities. This will allow users to make calls, send messages, and browse the internet in places where signal reception was previously impossible, such as deserts, jungles, or maritime zones.

Unlike traditional satellite services, this system doesn't require satellite dishes or external equipment , making it easy to connect anywhere with clear sky view. All you need is a compatible smartphone with updated software and a subscription to the Starlink satellite plan.

SpaceX reported that, in this first phase, the official list of compatible phones includes models launched from 2020 onward, from leading brands such as Apple, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, and Motorola. Below is the complete list of smartphones that will be able to connect to the satellite network starting July 15, 2025:

According to SpaceX, other LTE-enabled models launched after 2020 may be compatible, provided they receive firmware updates that incorporate support for the satellite network. The company recommends checking the official Starlink website for an updated list of certified devices for each region.

The Starlink Direct to Cell service will allow users to stay connected in emergency situations, adventure travel, or professional activities in remote areas. Key benefits include:

  • Access to calls, messages and data in areas without terrestrial coverage.
  • Increased safety for hikers, transporters, and workers in isolated regions.
  • Eliminating the need for bulky antennas or specialized satellite phones.
  • Possibility of maintaining connectivity on the high seas or in rural areas.
  • Significant improvement in communications resilience during natural disasters.

Yes. SpaceX reported that the service will have a dedicated subscription plan , which will be added to the user's monthly Starlink fee or mobile plan. Final pricing has not yet been revealed, but costs are expected to be lower than traditional satellite phones, democratizing access to global communications.

The service will initially be available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and European countries, with plans to expand to Latin America, Africa, and Asia in the coming months, as regulatory approvals are obtained.

The activation of Starlink direct-to-cellphone satellite internet starting July 15, 2025, will revolutionize the way millions of people communicate in remote locations. With a wide list of compatible models, this service promises to connect the world like never before, eliminating geographical barriers and offering a powerful tool for security, tourism, and fieldwork. Checking if your smartphone is compatible and learning about the available plans will be the first step to taking advantage of this innovative technology that brings the future of connectivity closer.
