Vodafone signs a wholesale agreement with Silbö Telecom

Vodafone signs a wholesale agreement with Silbö Telecom

Vodafone Spain will provide wholesale access to its network to the virtual operator Silbö Telecom under an agreement signed between the two companies. The agreement marks the beginning of a new strategic alliance between the two companies. Silbö Telecom will thus benefit from Vodafone's mobile and fiber network coverage.

Until now, Silbö used Movistar 's mobile coverage, while in the fixed fiber optic business, it has agreements with five companies: Telefónica, Orange, Onivia and Adamo , which Vodafone has now joined.

The new agreement will allow customers to choose their preferred fiber optic network coverage, provided it is present in the area where the user's home or business is located. Regarding mobile services, Silbö will use both Movistar and Vodafone networks.

Within its wholesale channel, Silbö Telecom will operate as a full-service MVNO.

Vodafone's 5G network will reach 90% of the population and more than 3,700 municipalities by the end of this year. Vodafone has also strengthened its 4G deployment, with 99.88% of the Spanish population covered by this technology and providing fiber optic access to nearly 30 million homes, 11 million of which are on its own network.
