Apple Watch Ultra 3: Few new features, but an expected revolution

In addition to the traditional Apple Watch Series and Apple Watch SE, the famous Apple company has a third smartwatch that has been gaining popularity in recent years. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to be unveiled this Tuesday, September 9th, with a few new features on the agenda. However, the watch would mark a significant step in Apple's strategy thanks to a new, never-before-seen feature.
There's no major design change. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 carries over almost all of the same features found on the two previous models released in 2022 and 2024.
One small new feature, however, seems to stand out: the Apple Watch Ultra 3 would have a larger screen than its predecessors. This new screen would also be LTPO OLED, which would guarantee better maximum brightness and the ability to lower this brightness to a very low threshold.
Foolproof connectivityThe biggest new feature of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is its connectivity. For the first time ever on a watch from the company, satellite connectivity is said to be added. This connectivity would allow you to use the watch's communications even when you don't have internet access or a mobile network. This means you'll be able to send messages even if you're in the middle of the desert or in a dead zone without carrier service!
A new chip distributed across the entire rangeIn addition to this new connection, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will also feature a new chip: the Apple S11. This chip should deliver slightly better performance than the S10 chip found in previous generations, but it shouldn't represent a huge gain either.
The new S11 chip is also reportedly planned for the Apple Watch Series 11 as well as the new Apple Watch SE 3.
An unchanged price and a release dateAccording to the latest rumors, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is not expected to see any price changes compared to previous models. The smartwatch will still be priced starting at €999, with an estimated release date of mid-September.
