Change in a key global market

Global chip sales in April rose 22.7 percent year over year to $56.96 billion, the Semiconductor Industry Association said.
Global semiconductor sales rose month-on-month in April for the first time in 2025, SIA President and CEO John Neufer said.
Sales in North and South America in April rose 44.4% compared with the same month a year earlier, in China - 14.4%, in Asia Pacific and other regions - 23.1%. In Europe - 0.1%, in Japan - 4.3%.
Chip sales in North and South America fell by 1.1% year-on-year, and in Japan - by 0.6%. At the same time, sales in China rose by 5.5%, in Europe - by 0.5%, and in the Asia-Pacific region - by 5.3%.
SIA represents about 99 percent of the U.S. semiconductor industry and about 66 percent of chipmakers from other countries.
