Samsung Galaxy S26: A nice battery upgrade coming, but not the one we expected!

While all eyes are on Samsung's next foldable smartphones coming this summer, the company is already making waves with its upcoming Galaxy S26. Expected to launch in early 2026, the latter is said to benefit from several improvements following criticism of the company's previous phones.
Among the criticisms of the latest Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, many users (and this author) have lamented a battery that hasn't improved in several years. While the phone's battery life isn't bad, it could be significantly improved given the device's price.
The first information regarding the Samsung Galaxy S26 suggests some good news: the company is reportedly integrating a nice new feature for the phone's battery. Called "battery protection circuits," this addition would allow the phone to better manage charging current and avoid unwanted phenomena like overcharging or overcharging that could damage the battery. This new feature should have a positive impact on the Galaxy S26's battery life, but many users are expecting more to come.
Unfortunately, there is still no information regarding a possible increase in battery capacity, which has remained unchanged for over four years now. However, Samsung is expected to continue working on the possibility of integrating carbon silicon batteries in the coming years to improve the battery life of its devices, particularly its Galaxy S Edge.
