OpenAI launches AI agent, ChatGpt, which performs tasks for the user.

OpenAI is launching an AI agent for ChatGpt that can complete tasks for users as a virtual collaborator. This feature has already been implemented by competitors like Microsoft and Google. The release is taking place in some countries for subscribers, but not in Italy at the moment.
Tasks the new feature can handle include checking your calendar, providing a briefing on business meetings, creating a presentation, and even organizing a dinner or trip, as well as assisting with online shopping. It essentially combines several features already launched by OpenAI, such as Operator, which interacts with websites, Deep Research, which synthesizes information, and ChatGpt's conversational skills.
"It's an intelligent assistant designed to collaborate with the user," the company states, "adapting in real time to specific needs and facilitating rapid transition from idea to execution." To begin using this mode, select "Agent" from the tools menu. The new feature has begun rolling out in some countries to subscription users. "In some regions," OpenAI specifies, "additional external reviews are required before new products are launched. OpenAI is finalizing the timeline for the ChatGpt Agent launch in Italy and will provide an update in the coming days."
OpenAI promises that "security is a priority." "The AI agent," it specifies, "requires explicit consent before performing sensitive actions, does not perform high-risk tasks like financial transactions or legal advice, is trained to recognize and reject malicious or contradictory instructions, and every step in sending emails is subject to user verification and approval."
