Amazon will close the accounts of users who have done these 4 things: how to avoid it

Amazon has begun implementing stricter measures to suspend accounts , especially those that violate security rules or sell prohibited products. The company aims to make its marketplace a safe space for both buyers and sellers.

According to the new provisions, users who violate certain rules could face a temporary suspension or permanent deletion of their account. This applies to both those who sell products and those who purchase using irregular payment methods.

  1. Unusual Payment Activity : If Amazon detects suspicious activity with your payment methods, such as gift cards with incorrect information, your account may be suspended while it investigates.
  2. Selling prohibited items : There are items that simply cannot be offered on Amazon: explosives, unauthorized medical products, weapons, or offensive content, among others.
  3. Violation of internal policies : This includes manipulating reviews, selling counterfeit products, or engaging in unethical practices within the platform.
  4. Errors in your personal information : Inconsistencies in your name, address, or payment methods can also trigger a suspension alert.

Account suspension may include:

  • Immediate closure of the account.
  • Loss of stored inventory.
  • Permanent hold on pending payments.
  • Termination of the commercial relationship with the platform.

In more serious cases, Amazon could even take legal action.

If your account has been suspended, Amazon allows you to appeal the case. You must:

  • Read the notification you received carefully.
  • Correct any violations (remove products, update data, etc.).
  • Write a Plan of Action (POA) explaining how you will solve the problem.
  • Submit your appeal from Seller Central.

The process can take 7 to 14 days , depending on how solid and clear your plan is. It's recommended to comply with Amazon's guidelines to avoid account suspension.
