Apple could launch the second generation of the Vision Pro and its own Ray-Ban Meta, according to rumors.

Apple could launch the second generation of the Vision Pro and its own Ray-Ban Meta, according to rumors.

Apple made the Vision Pro mixed reality headset official at the 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), but it wasn't until February of last year that they officially went on sale in the United States . Surprisingly, this device is not yet available in certain markets - such as Spain - however, this does not seem to matter to Tim Cook's company, since Apple is working on new mixed reality devices , belonging to both the Vision series and the smart glasses series.

This is what renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo announced on his official blog , stating that "these devices are the next big trend in consumer electronics." He added that "the company currently has at least seven projects in development , including three Vision series products and four smartglasses variants." But what is known about each electronic device?

Starting with the Vision series, everything points to Apple being willing to expand this family with the following devices:

  • Vision Pro 5 : This is an update to the current headset, but will incorporate the M5 processor. Mass production is planned for the third quarter of this year, with projected shipments of 150,000 to 200,000 units by 2025.
  • Vision Air : This innovation would be powered by the latest iPhone flagship processor, will be lighter and have a lower weight than the Vision Pro and its mass production is planned for the third quarter of 2027.
  • Second-generation Vision Pro : It will feature a completely new design, be significantly lighter, and have a lower price. It will also be equipped with a Mac-level processor and is scheduled for mass production in the second quarter of 2028.

On the other hand, regarding smart glasses, Ming-Chi Kuo points to a device in line with the Ray-Ban Meta , which enables music playback and video recording, gesture and voice control, and camera and AI-powered functions. He also estimates that mass production is planned for the second quarter of 2027.

In addition, Apple's roadmap also includes mixed reality headsets with vision technology and, according to the analyst's prediction, would feature a voice-control user interface and gesture recognition.
