Customers Await Amazon Prime Day. They Will Spend Billions of Dollars

A forecast prepared by Adobe Analytics based on approximately 1 billion shopping site logins that did not result in an order being placed predicts that spending at retailers will increase to $23.8 billion during this year's Amazon Prime Day .
Last year, the July discount offer lasted only 48 hours, but was valued at $14.25 billion. This time, the sale will start on July 8 and last until July 11, which means you can buy for 96 hours.
The extended promotion period is due to the actions of competitors from Walmart and Target, which also start the sale period. However, it was mainly the sellers who pushed for such a move expecting greater profits.
During Amazon Prime Day, customers expect prices on clothing and cosmetics to be 24 percent lower, electronics to be 22 percent lower, and school supplies and home furnishings to be up to 30 percent lower.
Adobe Analytics estimates that some customers will use the "buy and pay later" option, and the value of deferred payments will amount to 8%, or $1.9 billion . A year ago, it was about $1.1 billion.
