The Valencian technology sector grows by 11.3% and reaches 1,689 startups.

The sector has attracted 160 million in investment so far this year.
The Valencian tech ecosystem reached 1,689 startups in September 2025. This represents an 11.34% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This is reflected in the report from the Startup Observatory of the Valencian Community, promoted by Startup Valencia.
This growth has also extended to the investment sector. Startups in the Valencian Community have raised more than €160 million so far this year. Seventy-one percent of startups have received funding, representing a 66% increase compared to 2024.
In addition, the startup ecosystem has added 234 new entities, reaching 2,014, 13.15% more than in 2024. In this way, it is configured with a majority of service providers (114), followed by associations and communities (70), investors (39), universities and R&D centers (34), coworking spaces (32), accelerators and incubators (29), corporate venturing (27) and public institutions (13).
The analysis, supported by the Ministry of Innovation, will be presented on October 23 at the Valendia Digital Summit (VDS).
The Startup Observatory of the Valencian Community also notes that Valencian startups are hiring more employees, with 60% increasing the size of their teams compared to the same percentage last year, and now generating 21,462 jobs.
By geographic distribution, 89.58% of startups are concentrated in the province of Valencia, followed by Alicante (8.58%) and Castellón (1.84%). More than half of the startups, 54.88%, have an international market reach.
AI, the most present technologyArtificial intelligence remains the most present technology in the Valencian startup ecosystem for another year, with 28.75% of startups dedicated to it. Information and Communications Technology leads the ranking of new startup creation, with a growth of more than 225%. AI is in second place, with an increase of 89.35%.
By sector, the number of startups dedicated to Business and Enterprise has increased by more than 66%, followed by growth of nearly 50% in the Legaltech sector and 42.41% in Cleantech, Energy, and Sustainability.
The software sector continues to account for the largest number of startups, accounting for 14.14% of the total; followed by Business and Enterprise with 10.38%, and Cleantech, Energy, and Sustainability, which accounts for 7.18% of emerging startups.
For Juan Luis Hortelano , president of Startup Valencia, the data reflects that Valencia is consolidating its position as one of the most dynamic technology hubs in Europe and a global benchmark for innovation. "The sustained growth of the Valencian ecosystem, both in terms of the number of startups and in attracting investment and job creation, demonstrates that we are building a competitive, international environment with a strong social and environmental commitment," he notes.
