He explains that he has received up to 40 calls from people who have been victims of the same scam in different parts of Spain.
On August 5, María purchased an air conditioner through the suspicious website. The page indicated that the company responsible for the sale and installation was Servecli SL, although the domain had been registered just a few days earlier in Toronto , Canada, and offered no information about who was behind it. Communication with the alleged seller occurred via WhatsApp using a number beginning with 612 , which was listed as linked to the company in online directories. "I didn't see anything unusual that would make me suspect it was a scam," she says.
In the conversation he was offered a discount If she made the payment via Bizum or immediate transfer , María paid €359.95 to a different number than the one she had contacted and received a confirmation email . However, the next day, the website stopped working, and the supposed seller responded that it was "under maintenance" or "updating prices." On the day of the installation, no one came , and since then, the phone number has been unavailable.
The owner of Servecli SL explained to Maldita.es that his company does not have a website nor does it sell devices , but only installs them in the province of Jaén. He claims that in the last two months he has received dozens of calls from people who have paid through websites impersonating his brand and using fake numbers. "They have created a fake website and a fraudulent phone number," he points out. He adds that the company's only legitimate number is 669 94 82 55 and that the real email is [email protected] .
The company has reported the case to the authorities and asks those who have been victims to do the same as soon as possible. It also calls on company directories to report who registered the fraudulent number associated with their name.
