Very heavy rains with intense rainfall will hit the following states from Monday to Thursday

MEXICO CITY (apro).- The National Meteorological Service (SMN) announced that a week of very heavy rains is coming, with intense periods throughout the week.
The National Water Commission (Conagua) warned of the effects of front number 2, combined with the Mexican monsoon and a new tropical wave between September 8 and 11.
For Sunday night and early Monday morning, the Mexican monsoon will bring heavy to very heavy rains accompanied by lightning in Chihuahua, Durango, Sinaloa, and Nayarit, as well as showers in the Baja California Peninsula and Sonora.
Front number 2, meanwhile, is moving stationary over northeastern Mexico, interacting with atmospheric instability, generating intense rainfall in Coahuila (north, center, and south) and Tamaulipas (west and south); very heavy rainfall in Nuevo León and San Luis Potosí; and wind gusts of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour in those states.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure channel in western Mexico, interacting with atmospheric instability and the influx of moisture from the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, will cause very heavy rainfall in Zacatecas; heavy rainfall in Chihuahua, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, the State of Mexico, Mexico City, and Puebla; and showers in Guerrero, Morelos, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo, and Tlaxcala.
At the same time, another low-pressure channel in southeastern Mexico, atmospheric instability, and the entry of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea will cause intense rainfall in Chiapas (north and south); very heavy rainfall in Oaxaca, Tabasco, and Campeche; and heavy rainfall in Yucatán and Quintana Roo.
Monsoon and atmospheric instability will cause rain on MondayOn Monday, the Mexican monsoon will bring intense rainfall to Nayarit and Jalisco; very heavy rainfall to Durango and Sinaloa; showers to Chihuahua and Sonora; and scattered showers to the Baja California Peninsula.
Meanwhile, frontal system number 2 will extend stationary over northeastern Mexico, interacting with atmospheric instability, generating intense rainfall in Tamaulipas; very heavy rainfall in San Luis Potosí; and heavy rainfall in Coahuila and Nuevo León, as well as wind gusts of 40 to 60 km/h in Coahuila and Nuevo León.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure channel in southeastern Mexico and the influx of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea will bring heavy to very heavy rains to the region, including the Yucatan Peninsula.
Likewise, the influx of moisture from the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, in addition to atmospheric instability, will cause showers and heavy rain in the north, east, center, west, and south of the country; very heavy rainfall is forecast in Zacatecas, Colima, and Michoacán.
Finally, the hot to very hot weather will continue in northern Mexican states, coastal states along the Pacific and Gulf of Mexico, and the Yucatán Peninsula, with temperatures that could exceed 40°C in parts of Baja California, Sonora, and Sinaloa.
Valley of MexicoPartly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected throughout the day. Cool to mild skies are forecast for the region in the morning; cold with fog in the highlands of the Valley of Mexico.
In the afternoon, warm weather is expected with a chance of rain and showers in Mexico City and showers with occasional heavy rain in the State of Mexico. These showers will be accompanied by lightning and possible hail.
The minimum temperature in Mexico City will be 14 to 16°C and the maximum will be 24 to 26°C. For Toluca, State of Mexico, a minimum temperature of 10 to 12°C and a maximum of 21 to 23°C is expected. Winds from the north and northeast will be 10 to 20 km/h with gusts of up to 40 km/h in storm areas, according to the SMN .
