Health Free from Politics? How the System is Changing at the 21st Health Market Forum

In less than a month, the 21st edition of the Health Market Forum will kick off in Warsaw. As usual, decision-makers, distinguished experts, managers, and representatives of the scientific and business worlds will be present. This year's theme, "Between laws and grassroots initiatives," will encourage reflection on how the healthcare system is changing—from the top down and from the practitioner level.

Is it possible to exclude healthcare from the influence of politics? Who has a realistic chance of doing so, and at what level can the system be changed? Experts at this year's 21st Health Market Forum in Warsaw will attempt to answer these and many other questions. The event will take place on October 20 and 21 at the Sheraton Grand Warsaw.
As usual, guests will include top-level politicians, distinguished experts, managers, and representatives of science, patients, and business. Minister of Health Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda, as well as Deputy Ministers Tomasz Maciejewski and Katarzyna Kacperczyk, have confirmed their participation.
The event agenda will consist of nearly 30 substantive sessions and presentations on the Open Stage of the Health Market Forum. We will discuss topics such as hospital reform, healthcare system financing – necessary budget decisions and new models for resource allocation – access to modern therapies, the need for integrated care, and effective diagnostics.
We will also cover topics related to mental health, nutritional therapy, health insurance, the role of prevention, digitalization, and new technologies. We will also discuss new competencies for pharmacists, nurses, and physiotherapists, as well as occupational safety for medical personnel in the context of legal regulations and organizational standards. Part of the discussion will also focus on the pay scale for medical professionals and deregulation, health priorities in the future EU budget, and rare diseases.
Experts will also address the topic of drug safety and the availability of modern therapies, especially in the context of recent events related to the violation of Polish airspace.
Nearly 30 debates, a gala and Portraits of Polish MedicineThe theme of the debates will be " Between laws and grassroots initiatives" – how is the healthcare system actually changing? The discussions will focus on five thematic areas:
- health care system, management, financing,
- digitalization, innovation and security,
- patient and integrated care,
- staff and new medical professions
- pharmacy market and the role of the pharmacist.
The first day will culminate in a gala during which we will present the Portraits of Polish Medicine – the annual distinctions awarded by the Health Market to those who have made outstanding contributions to the healthcare system. Awards will be presented in three categories :
- Health Market Manager,
- Health Market Doctor,
- Health Market Event.
Debates, lectures and presentations will be available both in-person and online - on the event website and on the rynekzdrowia.pl portal. Registration of participants (in-person and online participation) has already started.
