Stadler Polska has introduced robots into its warehouse. The system has proven successful, and more will follow.

Stadler Polska , a rolling stock manufacturer, initiated its warehouse automation process in August of last year, partnering with automated storage system integrator Element Logic. After analyzing the company's needs, warehouse capabilities, and conducting consultations , Stadler decided to invest in the AutoStore system . Its installation was completed in November 2024, and the system processed its first orders in January 2025 .

The AutoStore warehouse is a strategic investment by Stadler Polska

"Automating our warehouse is a milestone towards even greater efficiency and reliability of our production processes. We recognized the potential of this solution from the outset, which is why we are consistently developing it in collaboration with Element Logic. This is a strategic investment that strengthens our market position and also gives us confidence in our internal processes, " says Adam Skolimowski, Director of the Supply Chain Department at Stadler Polska, quoted in the press release.

AutoStore is an automated system where products are moved by robots. The system resembles a giant box of metal-framed blocks or a Rubik's Cube. The robots move along a frame at the top of the "cube" and retrieve containers called bins filled with goods from beneath them.

In its initial configuration, the system included 13 robots navigating an aluminum mesh and 8,000 bins of components. The second phase of expansion increased the number of bins to 17,700, doubling the storage and order picking capacity for production.

"Both the AutoStore system and the nature of our collaboration are very flexible. We approach each warehouse individually, tailoring the offered solution to the client's actual needs. We act as an advisor both before installation and during the system's operation. Stadler was no exception. The fact that Stadler so quickly decided to expand the AutoStore system with our help is a testament to our enormous trust and confirmation of a successful collaboration from the very beginning of the installation," emphasizes Anna Wiśniewska, Managing Director at Element Logic.

Element Logic has built 15 of 16 AutoStore installations in Poland

However, this isn't the end of the automation expansion at Stadler's Siedlce plant. The company has planned the next, third phase of AutoStore expansion , which is scheduled for completion at the turn of 2025 and 2026. During this phase, Element Logic experts will install an additional 10,000 bins, increasing the storage capacity for production components to 27,000 bins.

Element Logic, operating in the Polish market since 2018 and globally since the 1980s, is a leader in warehouse automation and the implementation of AutoStore systems. The company is responsible for 15 of the 16 installations of this system in Poland, implementing projects for brands such as DSV, DHL Supply Chain, and Morele.net.
