Abdurrahman Tutdere responds to claims that he will join the AKP

Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere, a Republican People's Party (CHP), answered questions from reporters at a meeting he attended at the Altınşehir Municipality Social Facility. Regarding the rumors that he would resign from the CHP and join the AKP, Mayor Tutdere stated that the allegations were unfounded.

Tutdere, stating that as Mayor of Adıyaman, he has been meeting with all stakeholders to address the city's problems and provide services, said, "As a result of these meetings, we have received significant support from our metropolitan municipalities and other municipalities. We continue to receive this support. We are building libraries. We are undertaking significant projects, and in this context, we held a series of meetings in Ankara last week. Of course, we also visited Mr. Aydın, a former MP in Adıyaman and currently Deputy Minister in Adıyaman, a Deputy Minister from Adıyaman. This visit was, of course, entirely friendly and aimed at consultation and solutions to Adıyaman's problems. But, as always, some of our colleagues here, pursuing certain perceptions, have made headlines, claiming Tutdere is moving to the AK Party. I'll say it again: That's why the people of Adıyaman loved Tutdere. They supported and trusted his identity. He elected him to two terms as a MP. This term, he was elected mayor with a historic vote."

'THE PEOPLE OF ADIYAMAN SHOULD NOT TRUST MALICIOUS NEWS'

Tutdere is on the side of its people, in its place, and will continue to serve the people in its place from now on,” said Tutdere, adding:

Let no one believe such dirty perception manipulations. As a mayor who enjoys the support of all in this position, I will serve all of my people without discrimination, and I will be deeply honored to do so. I ask all of my people, all of my fellow citizens of Adıyaman, not to give credence to these perception manipulations that attempt to overshadow our municipal work and the good work we have accomplished. I ask them not to believe malicious news. We, along with all our colleagues, our council, and all our units, want to serve this city that witnessed the February 6th coup. Our sole concern is to revive Adıyaman. We have no other purpose, no other goal, and no other ambition. If we had any ambition, we would be continuing as members of parliament today. We are on duty. We are at the service and disposal of the people of Adıyaman.
