Critical warning from Meteorology: Heavy rain expected in 4 regions

The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has issued a heavy rain warning for Monday, September 8. According to the forecast, torrential downpours and thunderstorms will affect eastern Marmara, the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the Black Sea (excluding Bayburt), and the areas around Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Afyonkarahisar, and Ardahan.

It was reported that temperatures will drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in inland areas, while there will be no significant change in other regions. In rainy regions, thermometers will not exceed 35 degrees Celsius.

Local hail is also expected

Rainfall is expected to be particularly heavy in northeastern Central Anatolia (Ankara, Çankırı, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Yozgat, Sivas), southern Niğde and Kayseri, northern Adana, and western Kahramanmaraş. The National Security Directorate (MGM) emphasized the need to be vigilant against potential hazards such as flash floods, inundations, lightning, localized hail, and strong winds.

• Marmara: Istanbul and Bursa 26°C, partly and very cloudy, with local showers.

• Aegean: Afyonkarahisar 22°C, showers; Izmir and Muğla 32°C, clear.

• Mediterranean: Adana 33°C, Antalya 30°C, with local heavy showers.

• Central Anatolia: Ankara 21°C, heavy showers; Konya 24°C, thunderstorms.

• Black Sea: Trabzon 25°C, Samsun 27°C, with showers.

• Eastern Anatolia: Erzurum 26°C, partly cloudy; Van 27°C, clear.

• Southeastern Anatolia: Diyarbakır 35°C, partly cloudy and clear.

Meteorology asked citizens to be especially cautious against floods and inundations.
