Helicopter Carrying Honduran President Makes Emergency Landing

A helicopter carrying Honduran President Xiomara Castro was forced to make an emergency landing in a mountainous area due to thick fog.
While en route from San Pedro Sula to the capital Tegucigalpa, the helicopter made an emergency landing in a mountainous area in the town of Santa Cruz de Yojoa due to low visibility. President Castro and his entourage safely exited the helicopter after the incident.
President Castro said in a statement that the weather conditions made the flight difficult, adding, "There was a lot of fog, the weather was very cloudy. We tried to go back to San Pedro, but we found a safe spot to land. Thank God, we are all fine."
Authorities announced that Castro was brought safely to the capital following the incident.
