It is now known who will maintain one of the most famous tunnels in Poland

The Kraków branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) conducted the tender for the maintenance of safety systems and tunnel operation equipment along the S7 expressway in Naprawa, along with associated infrastructure and the Tunnel Management Center. Three companies participated in the tender announced last year (all bids met the GDDKiA budget).
In January, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) announced that Wasko's offer was deemed the most advantageous. However, two months later , the selection of this offer was invalidated due to a ruling by the National Appeal Chamber ordering the contracting authority to repeat the review and evaluation of the offers. However, the outcome of the subsequent review remained unchanged, and on Tuesday (July 15), representatives of the Directorate signed a contract with the Gliwice-based company Wasko, the subject of which is:
- ongoing maintenance of tunnel infrastructure systems and devices , aimed at performing maintenance and operational activities of the tunnel and the tunnel infrastructure devices and systems installed in it and its associated facilities, as well as technical buildings, as well as devices located in its area of influence - including repairs not covered by the Guarantor's warranty;
- 24-hour dispatch service of the Tunnel Management Centre ;
- development, agreement and implementation of a variable traffic organization project in accordance with applicable requirements and regulations
The total value of the contract is PLN 16.76 million net, or PLN 20.62 million gross . The contract completion period is 36 months.
The slightly over 2 km long tunnel under Luboń Mały, located along the S7 expressway, opened to traffic in November 2022.
