Journalist Hikmet Çetinkaya passed away

Sad news came from Hikmet Çetinkaya, one of the master names of the Turkish press. Çetinkaya, a writer for Cumhuriyet newspaper, passed away in the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Journalist Çetinkaya, who has been suffering from health problems for a while, was intubated today.
The Turkish Journalists Association (TGC) published a condolence message following Çetinkaya's death.
The message said, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our member, journalist and author Hikmet Çetinkaya, who successfully served the journalism profession for many years. We offer our condolences to our colleague’s family and our press community.”
WHO IS HIKMET CETINKAYA?
He was born in Edremit in 1942. He completed his high school education at Manisa Boys High School. He started his career at Cumhuriyet Newspaper in 1966. He worked as a reporter and interview writer at Cumhuriyet Newspaper for many years. He had been a columnist since 1988. He served as the Izmir representative of the newspaper for a period. He continued his duty as the General Publishing Coordinator of Cumhuriyet Newspaper from 1992 to 2000.
He has 36 published books. Çetinkaya, who is married and has three daughters, was awarded the 2014 Burhan Felek Press Service Award. Çetinkaya also holds a Permanent Press Card.
