Last duty for police officers martyred in Balçova! The martyr's father led the funeral prayer

The bodies of first-class police chief inspector Muhsin Aydemir and police officer Hasan Akın, who were martyred in an armed attack on the police station in the Balçova district of Izmir, were brought to the July 15 Martyrs Mosque in the Gaziemir district in hearses.
The funeral ceremony, held at noon, was attended by the families and loved ones of the martyrs, as well as Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, İzmir Governor Süleyman Elban, Aegean Army and Garrison Commander General İrfan Özsert, AKP Secretary General Eyyüp Kadir İnan, CHP Deputy Chairman Murat Bakan, İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay, Security General Director Mahmut Demirtaş, Coast Guard Air Commander Rear Admiral Ertuğrul Şerbetci, military officials, representatives of political parties, and colleagues. The relatives of the martyrs hugged the coffin, shed tears, and offered prayers.

At the coffin of martyred police officer Hasan Akın, his family said, "Martyrs never die; they should be neighbors of our Prophet. Don't cry, my brother would be angry if he saw." Martyr Akın's two daughters also came to their father's coffin to say goodbye. Akın's funeral prayer was led by his father, retired imam Ferhat Akın.
After Provincial Mufti Sinan Kazancı led the funeral prayer for martyr Aydemir, the remains were carried to hearses by a ceremonial squad, accompanied by prayers. Aydemir's remains were taken to the Işıkkent Police Cemetery in the Bornova district for burial, while Akın's were taken to the Ova Cemetery in the Kuşçular neighborhood of the Urla district.
It was stated that the martyr Muhsin Aydemir, who was married and had two children, started working at the Izmir Police Department in 1995, completed his eastern duty at the Iğdır Police Department in 2009, and served in the Tekirdağ Police Department, the Counter-Terrorism Department, and the Izmir Police Department, respectively, and in 2021, he was appointed to the Izmir Work Center of the Inspection Board.
It was stated that martyr Hasan Akın, who was married with two children, started working at the Çanakkale Police Department in 2013, completed his eastern duty in the Hakkari Yüksekova District Police Department and Muş Bulanık District Police Department in 2016, and was appointed to the İzmir Police Department in 2020.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Yesterday, EB (16) carried out a pump-action assault on the Salih İşgören Police Station in Balçova. First-class police chief and chief inspector Muhsin Aydemir and police officer Hasan Akın were martyred in the attack. Police officers Ömer Amilağ and Murat Dağlı, as well as a citizen, were injured in the attack.
27 suspects were detained as part of the investigation.
