Latest layoffs at Microsoft; 9 thousand people laid off

Microsoft had already announced in May that it would lay off approximately 6,000 people. However, layoffs have continued since then, and it is reported that a total of approximately 9,000 people have been laid off. It is reported that people from different units have parted ways.

It is stated that 200 people were laid off from King, the developer of Candy Crush, and hundreds of people from dozens of teams were laid off in this process.

Microsoft is laying off 4 percent of its global workforce across teams and regions.

Behind these decisions is the reduction of layers of management.

The company continues to make the necessary organizational changes to make the company and teams more dynamic, a spokesperson said in an email, according to CNBC. Microsoft reported net income of about $26 billion on revenue of $70 billion in March. The company is considered one of the most profitable companies in the S&P 500 index.
