Passenger Plane Narrowly Escapes Mid-Air Collision: Two Cabin Crew Injured

Southwest Airlines Flight 1496, departing from Burbank, California, was forced to make a sudden maneuver to avoid another aircraft after receiving collision warnings in the cockpit. The plane lost approximately 500 feet (150 meters) of altitude during the incident, injuring two flight attendants.
The flight landed in Las Vegas without incident. The other aircraft causing the disturbance was a Hawker Hunter fighter jet, according to Flightradar24.
The FAA has launched an investigation into the incident. It is the second serious mid-air collision risk in the US in a week and the fourth incident involving military jets since March.
Southwest announced that flight attendants were treated and that no official injuries were reported to passengers. However, one passenger noted that the sudden loss of altitude caused panic on the plane.
