This applies to everyone with a Gmail account! Google was hacked

The hacker group ShinyHunters tricked a Google employee into infiltrating the company's massive Salesforce-managed database. In the June attack, the hackers used stolen login credentials to access Google's cloud-based system and steal millions of business files.

Google announced that no user passwords were directly stolen in the attack. However, the hackers reportedly copied company names and customer contact information and used this data to attempt fraud via phone and email.

GMAIL USERS ARE AT RISK

Cybersecurity expert James Knight said the attack put Gmail users at serious risk. "There are a lot of cases of vishing," Knight said. "People pretend to be calling from Google and try to get login codes. Nine times out of ten, it's not actually from Google."

WARNING HAS BEEN MADE

Knight called on Gmail users to urgently review their account security. He listed the following recommendations:

- Multi-factor authentication must be enabled.

- Unique and strong passwords should be used.

- Google security checks should be performed regularly.

- Be careful about suspicious phone calls and messages, and never share verification codes.

NO CLEAR STATEMENT FROM GOOGLE

Google did not disclose in its blog post how many users were affected, and company spokesman Mark Karayan declined to comment further. It is unclear whether the hackers have demanded a ransom from Google.

Cybersecurity experts stated that stolen data could bring high profits on the black market, saying, "These email addresses are worth their weight in gold for hackers."
