Türkiye is number 1 in Europe! 155,000 years of telephone traffic

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Türkiye had the most phone calls in Europe, with an average monthly mobile usage time of 493 minutes in the second quarter of 2025. Minister Uraloğlu stated that approximately 81.4% of total mobile subscribers were individual subscribers, while 18.6% were corporate subscribers.

81.8 BILLION MINUTES, EQUAL TO 155 THOUSAND YEARS

Uraloğlu stated that a total of 81.8 billion minutes of calls were made on mobile and fixed lines, saying, "This period of time corresponds to 155,000 years of uninterrupted talk time." Minister Uraloğlu stated that the number of fixed-line subscribers reached 8.8 million and the number of mobile subscribers was approximately 96.5 million in the second quarter of 2025. He noted an 8.8 percent increase in mobile traffic and a 5.8 percent increase in fixed-line traffic compared to the previous quarter. Uraloğlu emphasized that mobile traffic constituted the majority of call traffic, saying, "95.8 percent of total traffic was mobile-to-mobile."
