Chopper Steals the Show in Netflix's 'One Piece' Reveal

Chopper Steals the Show in Netflix's 'One Piece' Reveal

Line up for the doctor. One Piece fans know who's joining Netflix's live-action show for season 2, and today, Tony Tony Chopper made his official appearance for a sneak peek of what's to come. We first spotted his reddish hat and signature antlers during the streamer's Geeked Week celebration last fall, but Netflix revealed Chopper during its live Tudum event. When the series returns in 2026, the beloved character will be voiced by Mikaela Hoover.

Adapted from the long-running manga, One Piece picks up the story and takes Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat gang through several story arcs, including Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden and Drum Island. If you've been a fan of Chopper for a while, then you may want to emotionally prepare (and get the tissues) for Drum Island. His backstory with Dr. Hiriluk hits hard.

A skilled medic in the pirate crew, Chopper the doctor is known for his kindness and brings a degree of virtuousness to One Piece. He'll be introduced to the small screen with Hoover's role as a voice actor and facial capture model, but he won't be alone when he joins the story in season 2. Among those entering the mix are Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk and many more.

Though fans will have to wait until 2026 for season 2, you can binge One Piece season 1 now on Netflix, and enjoy the anime on the platform, too.
