New opportunities for Orange customers

New opportunities for Orange customers

Thanks to this, Orange customers can now use mobile services in 5G technology based on the 700 MHz frequency.

Orange launched its first 5G services in the 700 MHz band just over a month after receiving the reservation from the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE). Coverage has been available in towns in Kashubia, the Mielno area, and the Sławskie Lake District near Leszno, among others. In the coming weeks, 5G in the 700 MHz band will be enabled at additional stations.

As the company explains: 5G services in the 700 MHz band are the next important stage in the development of the mobile network and the operator's investments increasing the network capacity, availability, quality and reliability of services for customers.

Since January of last year, Orange customers have been using 5G mobile technology based on the so-called C-band, frequencies in the 3600 MHz range. These frequencies are ideal for densely populated areas – primarily in cities or during mass events. They provide coverage over relatively short distances from the base station and enable simultaneous operation of multiple connected devices, ultra-fast data transfer, and minimal latency.

The new 700 MHz frequencies will enable 5G technology to reach residents of less populated areas. This allows the signal to reach a much greater distance from the base station, which is important given the relatively small number of users in rural areas.

Today , nearly half of Poland's population is within Orange's 5G coverage in the C band alone . By the end of 2028, Orange Polska aims to cover over 90% of the population with 5G services. Between 2025 and 2028, Orange plans to invest approximately PLN 0.5 billion annually in the development of its mobile network, including 5G.
