Subaru Solterra EV Debuts Divisive Look for 2026 Model Year

At the 2025 New York Auto Show, Subaru gave us our first look at the updated version of its Solterra electric SUV arriving later this year.
Depending on the color chosen, the Solterra now features color-matched fenders, which lends the EV a less rugged, but more generic look.
Up front, you'll find new reshaped headlamps.
The Subaru logo is now also illuminated.
DC fast charging is now a touch faster at 150kW thanks to improved battery preconditioning. The EV also now uses the NACS standard charging port pioneered by Tesla in the US.
A slightly larger battery and improvements to power management are said to yield around 25-percent more range.
Inside, the Solterra upgrades to a larger 14-inch touchscreen display and features dual 15-watt wireless phone chargers.
The 2026 Subaru Solterra arrives at dealerships later this year. Pricing has not yet been announced.
Check out our first look for more details about the 2026 Subaru Solterra and its new larger electric sibling, the Subaru Trailseeker.
