The Chinese giant increased revenue. However, profits fell sharply.

In the first half of 2025, the Chinese company Huawei Technologies Co. had consolidated net revenues of 427 billion yuan, or $59.72 billion, which means a year-on-year increase of 4%.
During this period, net profit amounted to 37.05 billion yuan (5.17 billion dollars) and was slightly over 32 percent lower than in the same period of the previous year.
Huawei explains this result by the need to increase investment in research and implementation of production of advanced chips, mainly for the development of mobile phones.
In 2020, President Joe Biden's administration included Huawei on a list of foreign entities to which it cannot transfer technology or sell advanced integrated circuits.
This was due to Huawei's links with the Chinese military sector and the suspicion of using solutions installed in mobile phones to track citizens of foreign countries.
Many European countries have therefore introduced restrictions for Huawei in tenders for the supply of servers , base stations and equipment for building 5G networks.
