US software giant Microsoft has averted a threatened antitrust penalty by making concessions to the EU. As the European Commission announced, the American company has committed to offering certain Office suites, including applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, without the Teams communication platform for at least seven years and at a reduced price. In addition, customers with long-term licenses will be able to switch to packages without Teams, and data exchange with competing products will be possible.
