Google has an ace up its sleeve for the summer: this feature will prevent your phone from overheating.

With the arrival of summer and rising temperatures, mobile phones overheating is a common occurrence . As temperatures reach record levels, users have reported a number of issues related to the Overheating of your devices : slow performance, rapid battery drain, unexpected application closures, and in more severe cases, complete crash.

To try to solve this problem, it seems that Google has a function with artificial intelligence. so that your Pixel phones don't get too hot.

Google's feature to prevent Pixels from overheating

Typically, smartphones have a mechanism that shuts them off when they reach a certain temperature to avoid damaging any internal components, something that needs to be taken into account in times like summer or in very hot places. Just in case, the tech company has an option on the Pixels called "Adaptive Temperature."

This feature takes strict measures to prevent the phone from overheating. When the device detects different temperature thresholds, it will take action to prevent the device from rising further. According to Android Authority , these are the thresholds Google uses to protect the device.

  • 49 degrees Celsius – Pre-emergency : The user is informed of the need to lower the device's temperature, and certain recommendations are given. Smartphone performance may also be reduced.
  • 52 degrees Celsius – Emergency : The information available so far does not reveal what specific actions the system will take, but we can expect more severe restrictions such as automatically suspending background tasks, and even foreground tasks.
  • 55 degrees Celsius : The Adaptive Temperature feature will display a message stating that the Pixel will shut down in 30 seconds to prevent damage to the device.

It's true that Google Pixel devices already have these temperature-reducing options, although this will allow users to receive alerts when their smartphone's temperature is reaching very high levels and needs to be lowered. It also offers users tips on how to prevent the temperature from continuing to rise.

If you have version 1.27 or higher of the Device Health Services app installed on your Google Pixel device, you already have support for the Adaptive Temperature feature, which is automatic, so it can't be accessed . While the presence of version 1.27 indicates that the code for this feature is already on your device, its activation also depends on a gradual rollout by Google, so your model may not have it yet.
