Best Labor Day Mattress Sales (2025)

Labor Day is here and along with it comes a bunch of bedding sales. If you've been looking for a sign from the universe to upgrade your bed, consider these Labor Day mattress deals—we don't expect to see sleep sales this good until Black Friday. I've been a professional mattress tester for five years, so I'm plugged in to what's going on in the mattress world (we're constantly scoping out new additions to our best mattresses list) and can keep track of the sales that really are the ones to watch.
While white pants are about to be out of season (if you follow that tradition), crisp white sheets are all-season, baby. We'll have updates on those sales as well in the weeks ahead, so you can get the best bedsheets to go with your new mattress.
Updated August 31: We've added sales from Buffy, Essentia, and Coop Sleep Goods.
We don't mess around when it comes to sales—we track prices to see where the actual deals are, not just tweaked sales lingo. Now that Labor Day weekend is upon us, these are the ones to watch based on our testing and records.
It’s always a good sign when you start your Labor Day mattress deals list off strong. Not only because the deal itself is good, but also because this particular mattress is the best one we’ve tested so far. The Helix Midnight Luxe is a side sleeper’s dream, mainly because it was made especially for that purpose. That’s the whole premise of Helix, where every sleeping position and body type can find a mattress that serves it. For Labor Day, there's an especially good deal going. Promotions usually are 20 percent off, but surprise! Use our code WIRED27 for 27 percent off this holiday weekend.
Yes, there is such a thing as a vegan mattress, which is constructed using only plant-based and natural materials. Essentia’s Tatami mattress falls into this category. WIRED Reviewer Molly Higgins found that its organic cotton and organic latex structure was a naturally supportive and comfortable way to keep pressure points cushioned. This is good news if you’re a side sleeper or have joint pain and want a more eco-friendly bed. Essentia is offering 25 percent off its entire site, no code necessary.
BedGear likes to keep things cool, especially with its H Performance Series mattresses. The H4 and H6 models have different firmness levels, but both prioritize cooling and support. This is thanks to a Ver-Tex cooling cover, which feels cool upon contact, along with a hybrid design for inner circulation and mesh ventilation around the sides of the bed. And this is all not just for show—it did such a remarkable job in testing that it’s a team pick for the best cooling mattress. For Labor Day, BedGear is helping you get through the last few scorching summer months with a cool deal of $300 off its Performance mattresses.
Several members of the Reviews team absolutely adore firm beds. And we’re talking firm as in plank-of-wood firm, for keeping spines from slumping and body weight spread out. But back pain isn’t the only reason for getting this type of bed. Heavier body types, stomach sleepers who also need spine alignment, and those who just love firmness should consider looking into Plank. Plank is also dual-sided, with one side as a true firm and the other an extra-firm, so you can compare and contrast. Plus, the pressure-relieving foams along the surface prevent it from feeling like something from the hardware store.
Another side-sleeper-friendly bed, the Nolah Evolution is the hybrid to watch when it comes to pressure relief, lumbar support, and firmness level customization. You can pick from among plush, luxury firm, or firm—of which plush or luxury firm will most likely be best for side sleepers needing a bit of softness to go along with their mattress’s support. But if you want a firm bed to help with your back pain, you have that option as well. Nolah’s offering 30 percent off site-wide and an additional $50 off your mattress purchase with code WIRED50.
Birch likes to keep things natural, and plenty of sleepers out there feel the same way. With GOLS-certified organic latex, organic cotton, organic wool, and pocketed coils—and zero fiberglass—Birch’s lineup of beds keeps things simplistic yet high-performing. Latex and coils are truly a dynamic duo (emphasis on dynamic) because both are elastic and responsive, which helps sleepers who move around a lot but don’t want to feel stuck. They’re also strong at keeping pressure points happy and preventing tension buildup. Only downside: Just like the grocery store, organic usually means more expensive. Lucky for Labor Day shoppers, Birch is running a 27 percent off sale with code WIRED27—an extra 7 percent more than its usual 20 percent. Woo-hoo!
I don’t know anyone who'd pass up the opportunity to have a good hibernation session when they really like their mattress. All of Bear's mattresses focus on natural materials, no fiberglass, and plenty of support for pain relief. The Bear Elite Hybrid is our go-to for sleepers who suffer from back pain. With its increased lumbar support via firmer coils in the middle of the bed, a pressure-relieving pillow top (that also cools!), and cushioning memory foam layers, it’s made to address any possible need related to supporting sensitive joints. Bear’s Labor Day sales start now by using code WIRED40 for 40 percent off its mattresses.
Who knew “avocado” had a double meaning, especially for things that were fresh and green? We’re talking about not the fruit, but the mattress brand. Avocado has an impressive list of certifications to ensure third-party testing and verification of its materials, showing it's truly using the best, most responsibly sourced, ethical, and organic materials. But materials alone aren’t just interesting; they perform really well, too. The Avocado Green latex hybrid is very helpful for sleepers who need a bouncier feel, especially if they're active. It's also very good at pressure relief but doesn't become so soft that it cancels out any support you feel.

DreamCloud has quite the lineup of mattresses, including one of my all-time favorites, the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid (review coming soon!). It features a firmer feel to provide enhanced lumbar support, while memory foam layers ensure continued pressure relief. Additionally, you can receive a complimentary sheet set, mattress protector, and set of pillows with your mattress purchase. So while the sale isn't the flashiest on here, it's made a lot more appealing with those freebies.
Newcomer mattress brand Tiami is also boasting some serious sales for Labor Day weekend. We have a review coming soon on this mattress, but here's the need-to-know: It's all about a luxurious feel, thanks to specialty pressure-relieving foams and coils. We got something special up our sleeve as well. Currently, Tiami is offering a 20 percent off mattresses deal, plus a complimentary $50 Design Within Reach gift card. Use code WIRED for an extra $200 off.
Best Labor Day Bedding DealsThe Citizenry makes some of our favorite sheet sets—seriously, they’re a top pick in both the WIRED 101 and our linen guide—which makes any sale they host worth shopping. Right now the entire site is 20 percent off for the brand’s Labor Day event, including our recommended percale and linen sheets. Both are a great choice for summer heat, warm sleepers, or anyone who likes good sheets. —Nena Farrell
Peeking at some percale sheet sales? WIRED reviewer Nena Farrell really liked the long-staple Supima cotton sheets from Buffy, which are a good contender if you’re looking to stay cool at night. I also love my Buffy Breeze comforter, which is perfect for when the nights start to get a bit cooler and the fall temperatures roll around. The Lyocell material doesn’t make me feel like I’m roasting, yet it maintains a weightier feel than your average blanket. As part of Buffy’s Labor Day sales, you can take 20 percent off the entire site and 30 percent off of bedding sets, no code needed.
I just kicked off testing pillows from Cool Sleep Goods, but early read: I really, really like them. If you'd like to test together and share your thoughts hypothetically, Labor Day’s a good time to stock up on some serious pillow inventory. Consider this a book club, but we only discuss sleep products—that would actually be my dream. Coop is offering 20 percent off its entire site, PLUS a free silk (!) pillowcase for orders over $150 and 40 percent off clearance (you still get the pillowcase if you spend over $150 here too!).
- Crescent pillow, not moon: Coop Crescent Pillow for $79 (20 percent off)—No Code Needed
If you’re a hot sleeper, I can’t recommend these sheets enough, and they’re on sale right now. They feel like silky bamboo since they’re made with Tencel lyocell, but are added together with a proprietary blend of viscose designed to keep you cool. That blend includes phase change material, or PCM, to absorb heat. It’s added to the sheets as a gel, but even after dozens of uses and washes (as two hot sleepers, my husband and I always grab these sheets when I’m not testing something new!), it’s still holding up great and keeping us cool. Slumber Cloud also makes a cooling pillow that feels like a down alternative if you need more cooling in your bedroom. Both have a discount right now ahead of Labor Day. —Nena Farrell
I know it's still very warm outside for many of us, especially as we hold onto these final dregs of summer. On the other hand, this is the time to plan ahead, which is why The Company Store's sheet sale is perfect timing for Labor Day. WIRED's sheets reviewer, Nena Farrell, is a big fan of this brand's flannel sheets, so if you're looking forward to cozy autumnal days, now's the time to grab a set so you're prepared. If you need some organizational help, the brand's storage bags can also keep sheets tidy.
I've sung Bedsure's cooling sheets' praises many times. And now I'm going to do it again: The brand's temperature-regulating bamboo creates a cool, silky-feeling sleep space, and for how much I use them, they've held up very well. The brand's GentleSoft sheets are already very affordable, but it's always fun to find an even better deal for them.
Big, big fan of all things Cozy Earth. From sheets, pajamas, to even the bamboo body pillow, I'm collecting all the products they offer like Pokémon in my free time. The bamboo sheets are my coveted sheet set because they swaddle me in a feeling of cool, glorious silkiness. Sales are not as frequent with Cozy Earth, so it's go time! Use our code WIRED to get 35 percent off the entire site.
Keeping it cozy: Cozy Earth bamboo sheet set for $208 (35 Percent Off)–No Code Needed
Even though summer's coming to a close, depending on where you live, the hot days aren't over yet. Cooling sheets are a must for many to use year-round, and Brooklinen's Classic Percale had a nice, crispy feel to them, according to WIRED Reviewer Nena Farrell. And right now, you can get 25 percent off the entire site.
