University, new nanotechnology laboratory at Unina headquarters in Fuorigrotta

The new nanotechnology laboratory of the Federico II University of Naples will be inaugurated tomorrow. The structure, called 'UniNano', was built in the headquarters of Via Claudio at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies. The ceremony will be held tomorrow, Thursday 15 May, at 10 am in room T2. The event will be introduced by greetings from the rector of the University Matteo Lorito and the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi. A conversation on 'The prospects of UniNano' will follow. At the end, after the ribbon cutting, a tour of the laboratory will be carried out. The new structure is equipped with high-tech equipment thanks to which it will be possible to carry out processes in numerous fields of application, with particular reference to enabling technologies such as photonics, micro and nano electronics, biotechnology, advanced materials, nanotechnology. UniNano will support and enhance the activities of the research groups of the University of Federico II, but it also aims to be a point of reference and aggregation to create collaborations between universities, research centers, and the world of industry , making available equipment, resources and high-tech know-how. The laboratory will also offer students attending master's and doctoral programs a unique multidisciplinary space that will provide them with cutting-edge training. The birth of UniNano is the result of the collaboration between the Department of Physics 'E. Pancini', the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies and the Advanced Metrological and Technological Services Center .
