MEXICO CITY (apro).- The rains continue unabated, and the National Meteorological Service (SMN) predicts a weekend of heavy and intense rainfall across the country.
In its forecast for July 25-28, the National Water Commission (Conagua) details which states will be most affected by phenomena such as tropical waves and the influx of moisture.
During Thursday night and Friday morning, the Mexican monsoon over the northwest of the country, interacting with a high-altitude trough and atmospheric instability, will cause heavy rainfall in Chihuahua, Durango, Sinaloa (south), and Nayarit, and isolated showers in Sonora.

Low-pressure channels over the Northern Mesa, northeast, and center of the country, interacting with atmospheric instability and the influx of moisture from the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, will cause heavy rainfall in Coahuila, the State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos, Puebla, and Veracruz; showers in Guanajuato (south), Hidalgo, and Tlaxcala; and scattered showers in Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, and Querétaro.
Winds of 30 to 40 km/h with gusts of 50 to 70 km/h are also forecast in Coahuila, and winds of 20 to 30 km/h with gusts of 40 to 60 km/h are forecast in Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Querétaro, Hidalgo and Puebla, and with possible dust storms in Zacatecas and San Luis Potosí.
Tropical wave 14, located off the coast of Guerrero and Michoacán, will also cause very heavy rainfall in Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, and Guerrero.
