In its relaunch, the PAN ends alliances, opens candidacies, and resorts to AMLO's phrases.

MEXICO CITY (apro) - The National Action Party (PAN) announced its relaunch with the promise that it will not form any alliance with another party for the elections and that its candidates will be elected by the general public and no longer by the party leadership.
At the Mexico City fronton, where they commemorated the game's beginnings in 1939, they outlined their new conditions, many of which coincide with the suggestions made to them by former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Another of the announced changes is that PAN membership will be open to any citizen through digital technology platforms.
Jorge Romero, national leader of the PAN, acknowledged that his origins are far removed from all the alliances they have had in recent years, many of them with the PRI, despite the fact that in recent days President Claudia Sheinbaum has initiated a discourse pointing to an alliance between the PAN and Movimiento Ciudadano, which she has called "McPAN."
"We understand there's a final call for the opposition, and today we heed the call of millions of people who don't believe we live in a perfect country," he said. "We are the main opposition force in Mexico. We are the second-largest political force in Mexico," he added.
"Today we are relaunching our party," he said; there will be campaigns like never before, and they will allocate "all resources to get started today" toward the "immense challenge of 2027. We will reach every corner, by air and land (...) A change of image is useless if we don't understand that the most important thing is the underlying offer."
Part of his “new narrative” is “total fidelity to our doctrine, to the most important legacy of our founders,” because “the original causes will be eternal.”
He explained that they are recovering their essence and their causes to gain the people's trust: "Vote for the PAN," and he guaranteed that there will be good governments.
In short, he said, the PAN will be Mexico's great defender: "We have to open the eyes of the citizens (...) Only those who do not want to see say that this regime does not want to cling to power."
They resort to AMLO's phrasesRomero, whom President Sheinbaum constantly calls the leader of the Real Estate Cartel, also launched messages and questioned the federal president.
"What is left of their 2018 speech? (…) They still dare to talk about transformation after the fiscal huachicol, Vector, and La Barredora," and he called them "the morally defeated ruling party. The mafia in power" because, he warned, they will use the same phrases as former President López Obrador, but now as a mirror image.
“To the President: In every country, political forces engage in dialogue, whether you like them or not, it doesn't matter because that's called politics, except here. They denigrate and slander those of us who commit the act of thinking differently.”
And he said it must be “absolutely clear that if they are making history, it is because they are destroying a Republic.”
In his half-hour speech before walking toward the Angel of Independence, he stated: "Whatever they do, they will never silence you and me. It's in our blood."
He concluded with the statement that they will defend their family, their country, and their freedom "to the death."
Affiliation through digital platformsTheir call is for complete openness to all those who want to join the PAN through a technological tool for immediate access.
"You want to join, you click, and that's it, no more chains. And no one in the PAN will ever again be able to decide if you're a PAN member," in addition to the new candidate selection methods and primary elections open to the public, as well as qualitative and quantitative surveys. "Return to meritocracy."
They're also calling on young people to speak for their neighborhoods and become candidates. The "only requirement is to come and work right now. If you qualify the highest, you'll be the PAN candidate."
"This is a return to our roots, and perhaps some will be upset, but even the most upset know that this is the path to recovery. For those who have a good place to live because they have a good relationship with a leader, it's 'get to work.'"
This is how, "20 months in advance," he asked them to begin this campaign, knocking on doors "house to house," and he reiterated: "Get to work, get to work, get to work. Really listen to the people."
He said his next national assembly will be at the end of November.
