A new program and 27 students for every spot. High school graduates have less and less time.
As Patrycja Matusińska from the university's press office told PAP on Monday, online registration for most programs ended on July 11. The exception is the medical program at the university's branch in Bielsko-Biała, where registration will last until August 1, 2025 .
Registration for second-cycle studies is also open until the same day - both full-time and part-time - with the exception of the field of medical rescue (full-time second-cycle studies), where the final registration deadline was July 18 .
The Medical University of Silesia offers 21 fields of study this year. A new addition to the program is Climate Protection and Health Risk Management (full-time, first-cycle studies) offered by the Faculty of Public Health in Bytom.
University data shows that the highest number of applicants per place is in the medical program in Bielsko-Biała – 27. High numbers were also recorded in the medical and dental programs (12 applicants per place), physiotherapy (8 applicants), and medical biotechnology and medicine programs in Zabrze and Katowice (7 applicants per place each).
The first ranking lists for candidates for full-time, uniform master's and first-cycle studies have already been announced.
On the following dates, the university plans to publish: August 8 - lists for full-time and part-time second-cycle studies, August 13 - lists for the field of medical rescue (second-cycle, full-time), August 14 - lists for part-time uniform master's and first-cycle studies, and after August 15 - lists for the field of medicine in Bielsko-Biała.
The university also announced that it offers candidates and students access to social benefits, scholarships, psychological support, and assistance for people with disabilities. Students can also benefit from the Erasmus+ program, clinical rotations abroad, co-financing for conferences, and support for research projects.
SUM also has a housing base - student dormitories with single and double rooms, equipped with Internet access and social facilities.
