Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners and private equity firm Silver Lake have joined forces to buy popular video game maker Electronic Arts , Reuters reported.

Financing for the deal will come from $36 billion in cash, equity already held by PIF, and $20 billion in debt financed by JPMorgan , the company said on Monday.

The deal with the maker of the "Battlefield" game series underscores how wealthy investors are betting on the enduring value of best-selling game series as the industry emerges from a prolonged slump, Reuters reported.
