3 arrests at the Pride March!

During the 23rd Istanbul Pride March held in Istanbul with the theme of "Insistence on Life", 50 of the 53 people who were detained and referred to the courthouse were released after judicial control measures were applied. 3 people were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for arrest. The 3 people who were brought to court were arrested and sent to prison.

BLOCKADE OF PRIDE MARCH IN ISTANBUL

The Istanbul LGBTI+ Pride Week committee, which announced this year's theme as "Insistence on Life", made a call on its social media account without specifying its location.

All roads leading to Istiklal Avenue were blockaded by police and barricades, and entrances to Taksim and Istiklal Avenue were restricted.

Beyoğlu District Governorship announced that all activities such as meetings and demonstrations, press releases, leaflet distribution and sit-in protests were banned in the district for 24 hours starting from 00:01 at night, and that Taksim Square, Gezi Park, Sıraselviler Avenue and İstiklal Avenue would be closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic up to Tünel Square.
