Boeing makes senior changes

US aircraft manufacturer Boeing has made a significant change in its senior management team. Brian West, who has been the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for four years, will step down as of August 15 to become an advisor to CEO Kelly Ortberg. West has been replaced by Jesus “Jay” Malave, an experienced name in the aviation industry.
As part of the new appointment, Jay Malave will serve as Executive Vice President and CFO at Boeing. Malave was previously CFO at Lockheed Martin and has extensive experience in the aerospace and defense industries.
CEO Kelly Ortberg said Brian West has shown remarkable leadership during challenging times for the company during his tenure, adding:
“Brian has successfully guided Boeing through one of the most critical periods in our history. He has made significant contributions, including a successful capital raise last year.”
Following the transition, Brian West will continue to support the company in an advisory role and will facilitate the transition for new CFO Jay Malave.
This change is seen as a step towards strengthening Boeing's crisis management and financial restructuring strategies in its management team.
