Canada Takes Historic Step for UFO Sightings

Canada Takes Historic Step for UFO Sightings

Canada is preparing to take a significant step forward in scientific research into unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) and UFOs. The "Sky Canada Project" report, spearheaded by Chief Scientific Advisor Dr. Mona Nemer, recommends establishing a federal research unit in this area.

The report calls for a system that allows pilots and air traffic controllers to report UFO sightings without fear of stigma. It also emphasizes transparent public disclosure of data, bilingual availability, and combating disinformation.

The proposed new unit will collect, analyze, and evaluate observations using scientific methods. This approach is similar to international examples such as the Pentagon's AARO office in the US and GEIPAN in France.

The report emphasizes that the observations are not linked to extraterrestrial entities and emphasizes the need for a physically based approach to the events. Paul Delaney, a retired physics professor at the University of Toronto, notes that 1-2% of cases remain unexplained.

It is not yet clear how the federal government will respond to the proposals.
