Cold shower for those making money from YouTube: The big end begins on July 15...

YouTube, the world’s largest video platform, has announced that it will make significant changes to its “Partner Program,” which provides income to content creators. The company aims to prevent unoriginal and repetitive content from earning money with its new policy, which will come into effect on July 15, 2025.

'STOP' SIGNAL TO THE CHANNELS

YouTube’s new policy will make it easier to identify channels that constantly share the same type of content and operate like a production line. Such channels will face the risk of losing their ability to make money. However, YouTube also announced that it will give channels that want to change this artificial content strategy a certain amount of time.

With the change, content owners who do not produce original and authentic videos will first be warned and asked to change their content strategies. If the same type of videos continue to be shared despite the warnings, the accounts may be suspended or completely removed from the program.

INSISTENCE ON ORIGINAL CONTENT

YouTube has previously emphasized that it encourages the production of “original content.” However, some content creators were making money by remixing other people’s content or uploading similar videos using automated systems. The new regulation aims to close this loophole.

YouTube’s definition of “mass production” or “continuous repetitive content” has not yet been detailed. However, the general expectation is that it will include the production of videos of the same style and structure in an automated manner.

Details will be announced on July 15

YouTube will share the details of the changes with the public on July 15, 2025. It is emphasized that there will be no changes for channels that produce original content. The company aims to highlight more original and quality content with the new policy.
