Despite the ceasefire, 45 people lost their lives in attacks carried out by the Israeli army in Gaza in the last 24 hours.
In a written statement, the Ministry of Health in Gaza shared data on the casualties and injuries sustained in Israeli attacks and the bodies recently recovered from the rubble.
It was reported that 57 dead and 158 injured people, 12 of whom were pulled from under the rubble, reached hospitals in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours.
The statement stated that despite the ceasefire, 45 people lost their lives and 158 people were injured in attacks targeting civilians in the last day.
It was reported that the number of people who lost their lives in the attacks that Israel started on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, increased to 68,216 and the number of injured rose to 170,361.
The statement also shared that the number of Palestinians killed in the ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza since the last ceasefire agreement came into effect has reached 80 and the number of injured has risen to 303, and it was noted that 426 bodies were recovered from under the rubble after the ceasefire.
It is reported that thousands of dead still lie buried under the rubble in the Gaza Strip.
Ceasefire agreement in Gaza
US President Donald Trump announced on October 9 that Israel and Hamas had approved the first phase of a ceasefire plan in Gaza during ongoing negotiations in Egypt.
The agreement was signed in Egypt, where negotiations were held, and came into effect on October 10 with the approval of the Israeli government.
Following the Israeli army's withdrawal from the "yellow line" as stipulated in the agreement, it was announced that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect at 12:00 on the same day.
Despite the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continues its attacks on Palestinians under various pretexts.
