Indictment against two CHP deputies from Aziz İhsan Aktaş indictment

The 578-page indictment prepared in the "Aziz İhsan Aktaş Criminal Organization" investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has been released to the public. A total of 200 people, including 40 public officials, are under arrest and charged with various crimes.
BRIBERY ACCUSATION AGAINST CHP MEMBERS BULUT AND KARABAT
One of the striking details in the indictment was that a summary of proceedings was prepared against CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut and Istanbul Deputy Özgür Karabat on charges of bribery.
The prosecutor's office alleged that Özgür Karabat, on the instructions of Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu before the 2024 local elections, collected money under the guise of "election support" from municipal subsidiaries and companies serving as contractors for CHP-run district municipalities. In this context, Aziz İhsan Aktaş allegedly paid Karabat a bribe totaling 5 million Turkish Lira.
Adana Deputy Burhanettin Bulut was also named in the indictment. It was alleged that Aktaş gave $1 million to Mayor Oya Tekin and Bulut, through Tekin's husband, Celal Tekin, as part of tenders the Seyhan Municipality received from companies owned by Aktaş. The prosecutor's office announced that an indictment has also been filed against Bulut.
