Giovanni Tomassini Became the New CEO of Baykar Piaggio Aerospace

Baykar has made changes to the top management of the Italian aviation company Piaggio Aerospace, which it acquired. According to the statement, Piaggio Aerospace's current Chief Operating Officer (COO), Giovanni Tomassini, has been appointed as the company's new CEO.

Born in 1964, Tomassini completed his master's degree in mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan. Tomassini has been with Piaggio Aerospace since 2009, and previously served as production manager at Ansaldo Sistem Industriali and Aermacchi.

Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar said, “Giovanni’s appointment as CEO is an indication of the trust and stability in the current management. With his experience, Piaggio Aerospace will continue to grow with Baykar’s innovative vision.”

Baykar completed the acquisition of Piaggio Aerospace on June 30, 2025, and this development attracted international attention.
