Google Drive introduces video transcript feature

Google Drive is now offering searchable video transcripts after launching an automatically generated subtitle service for videos last year. Drive users can now view transcripts of their videos and navigate to the main transcript of their choice. What are the benefits? Transcripts will appear in the sidebar next to the video player and will highlight the spoken text as the video plays. With the new update, users will be able to find specific moments in the content more easily by selecting the desired location from the transcript in the video. The new feature makes it possible to review the content of long videos more quickly and effectively. This can help speed up processes such as video editing and editing. In addition, content creators will no longer have to upload their videos to third-party software to obtain transcripts. How to Use It? To access video transcripts, you need to open a subtitled video in Google Drive and click the gear icon in the lower right corner of the video to open the video settings. Then, all you have to do is select the "Transcript" option. How to add subtitles? In order to access the full text of the video, the content must be subtitled. If your video doesn’t have subtitles, you can right-click on it and select “Manage subtitle tracks” from the menu that appears, and then manually add subtitles, or select the “Generate automatic subtitles” button just below. Who will be able to use it? The video transcript feature will be available to all Google Workspace customers and users with a Google account in the coming weeks, “although not all at the same time.”
