LOT Polish Airlines Receives New Generation RECARO Aircraft Seats

LOT Polish Airlines has received the first shipment of RECARO R2 seats, which will be used on both its Boeing 737 MAX 8 and Airbus A220 aircraft as part of its fleet modernization drive. The first set of seats was produced at RECARO's facility in Świebodzin, Poland, and will be installed on one of the 13 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft joining the fleet by the end of the year.
In total, LOT will receive approximately 14,000 ergonomic, modern chairs, all manufactured in Poland. The RECARO R2 model chairs combine lightness, ergonomics, and functionality. Each chair features:
60W fast charging supported power outlet,
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) holder for tablets and smartphones,
Six-way adjustable headrests,
Extended armrests,
Foam contoured backrests and
Lightweight sliding tray tables are included.
LOT considers these new seats not only a cabin innovation but also part of its environmental sustainability goal. Each seat weighs less than 10 kg, aiming to save fuel and lower CO₂ emissions.
The refreshed cabin design will be inspired by LOT's Polonez business lounges in Warsaw and Chicago and will be aligned with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, ensuring the airline offers a unified cabin experience across all its aircraft.
This step is an important part of LOT Polish Airlines' strategy to prepare the fleet for the future, both technically and in terms of passenger comfort.
