Roketsan, Turkey's leading company and global flag bearer of rocket, missile, and ammunition technologies, exhibited over 60 cutting-edge defense systems at IDEF 2025, the International Defense Industry Fair held in Istanbul . Launching new defense systems at IDEF, Roketsan is showcasing the power of the Turkish defense industry to the world.
IDEF 2025, the International Defense Industry Fair, hosted by the Republic of Turkey's Ministry of National Defense, with support from the Presidency of Defense Industries, and organized under the management and responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, began today. Held for the 17th time this year and open from July 22-27, IDEF'25 brought together the most influential players in the Turkish and global defense industries at the Istanbul Expo Center in Istanbul.
Roketsan is also making a show of force at IDEF, Türkiye's largest international defense and aerospace fair, by participating with over 60 defense systems, including some it will be showcasing for the first time. The Roketsan booth, where new products will be showcased for the first time, will also host numerous high-profile signing ceremonies with domestic and international partners.
Roketsan, present at IDEF'25 with a strong team, is hosting numerous visitors, industry professionals, government officials, and military delegations from Turkey and abroad at its stand. Roketsan officials, who have a busy meeting schedule throughout the fair, aim to return from IDEF with new collaborations.
Roketsan General Manager İkinci: “We will continue to research, develop and produce for a fully independent Türkiye.”
Roketsan General Manager Murat İkinci, in his statement regarding their participation in IDEF'25, said, “Our company, a global brand in rocket, missile, and ammunition technologies, continues to pioneer new technologies through its R&D activities, to be the striking and deterrent force of the Turkish Armed Forces with the defense systems it develops, and to provide strategic and economic strength to our country through exports to many regions of the world, from the Americas to Europe, from Asia to the Middle East. The increasing number of military conflicts and wars in our region, especially in recent years, has once again demonstrated the importance of our country's development in the defense industry. As Roketsan, we are building the Steel Dome, where we form the striking force with our air defense systems, and we are securing our country's airspace. As we have done so far, we will continue to add systems in many different areas, from our armed UAV munitions to anti-tank missiles, from our air defense missiles to our cruise missiles, from our naval systems to our artillery systems, to the inventory of our Turkish Armed Forces, and to strengthen our country's defense with our new technologies.” “We will,” he said, adding:
As part of IDEF'25, which offers the world the opportunity to showcase our defense industry achievements in the second century of our Republic, we are organizing signing ceremonies totaling billions of dollars with our domestic and international business partners. As always, we will continue our efforts to strengthen our country's defense in every aspect by increasing our collaborations. At IDEF, where our Turkish defense industry will make our nation proud by showcasing its strength, we took our place with over 60 defense systems that have proven their success in the field, stand out from their competitors in terms of performance, and are in the inventories of many modern armies, especially the Turkish Armed Forces. Furthermore, by launching six new products at IDEF, we are once again demonstrating our progress in defense technology. We are experiencing the excitement and joy of proudly representing our country with our cutting-edge domestic and national defense systems, all designed by Turkish engineers. With the strength we derive from this, we will continue to research, develop, and produce for a fully independent Turkey in defense.
Roketsan showcases its six new systems for the first time at IDEF 2025
The products launched at the fair by Roketsan, which has proven its success in the field, stands out in terms of price-performance compared to its counterparts around the world, and is the star of IDEF with its defense systems that are in the inventory of modern armies, were also highly acclaimed.
The systems and features exhibited by Roketsan for the first time at IDEF'25 are listed as follows:
- ATMACA with AKATA Capsule: AKATA, the submarine-launched version of the ATMACA anti-ship missile currently in the Turkish Armed Forces' inventory, will give Turkey the capability to launch guided missiles underwater, a capability possessed by only a few countries in the world. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, AKATA will strengthen the defense of the Blue Homeland with a range exceeding 250 kilometers and a high-explosive fragmentation warhead.
- GÖKBORA Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile: GÖKBORA will play a decisive role against enemy targets on manned and unmanned combat aircraft platforms. With its superior guidance capabilities and range exceeding 100 nautical miles, GÖKBORA will be a system capable of responding to all types of airborne threats, making it one of the air force's most important strike forces.
- TAYFUN BLOK-4 Hypersonic Missile: The BLOK-4 hypersonic version of the TAYFUN Missile, Turkey's longest-range, nationally produced ballistic missile, is being showcased for the first time at IDEF'25. The TAYFUN BLOK-4 achieves long ranges, setting another record for the Turkish defense industry. Weighing over 7 tons, this new version of the TAYFUN, with its multi-purpose warhead, will be capable of destroying numerous strategic targets, such as air defense systems, command and control centers, military hangars, and critical military facilities, from kilometers away.
- EREN High-Speed Multi-Purpose Loitering Munition: EREN, which can be used against low-speed airborne units, armored/unarmored ground targets, and anti-personnel by being launched from armed UAVs, helicopters, land vehicles, ground-based systems, and naval platforms, will meet a significant need in this field with its superior guidance capability, long endurance, and range of over 100 kilometers.
- 300 ER: This air-launched ballistic missile system, with a range exceeding 500 km depending on launch altitude and speed, can be integrated onto jet and armed UAV platforms and quickly engage strategic targets without the launch platform entering the threat area of enemy air defenses. The 300 ER will feature guidance methods and warheads that can be diversified according to target types. Its solid-fuel propulsion system will enable it to engage targets quickly, at high speed, and with high precision.
- ŞİMŞEK -2 Satellite Launch Vehicle: Planning to carry out the first launch test of the ŞİMŞEK-1 Satellite Launch Vehicle in 2027, Roketsan aims to carry Turkey even higher in the space league with the ŞİMŞEK-2 Satellite Launch Vehicle, which it developed to place satellites weighing 1,500 kilograms into sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 700+ kilometers.
