Russia bans Speedtest for security reasons

In a written statement, the Russian Federal Agency for Supervision of Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) stated that a decision was made to ban Speedtest.
In the statement, it was pointed out that the decision in question was taken due to the security threat to the internet and communication network in Russia, and it was suggested to use domestic services instead of Speedtest.
In Russia, various services of companies such as Meta, Google and Microsoft have been banned for various reasons.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also stated in a statement in May that services such as Microsoft and Zoom should be "left suffocated" and ordered the development of domestic alternative services.
