Suspicious Passenger Alert at Larnaca Airport

An alarm was raised at Larnaca Airport in Southern Cyprus due to a suspicious passenger on a plane arriving from Moldova. Following intelligence that a passenger with possible terrorist connections was on board, the plane was diverted to a special area after landing and security forces took action.
Police Launch Investigation
According to the Sigmalive news website, the suspicious passenger was questioned by the police, while authorities conducted a detailed examination of the plane. Greek Cypriot Transport Minister Alexis Vafeadis announced to the Cyprus News Agency KİPE that the plane was towed to a special area for security reasons and that authorities were carrying out the necessary checks.
Red Alert Issued
On the other hand, Philenews reported that Moldovan authorities had reported a suspicious passenger shortly before the plane was due to land, and that Larnaca Airport had been put on red alert. It was reported that the suspicious passenger was taken off the plane and is still being questioned by security forces.
Airport Continues Normal Operation
Due to the incident, intensive security measures were taken at the airport, and it was announced that there was no disruption to air traffic and flight operations continued normally. Airport operator Hermes stated that the incident only affected the flight in question and that there was no security threat.
