The World's Fastest Drone Pilots Will Compete at TEKNOFEST Istanbul

STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., which powers Türkiye's National Technology Initiative, continues to contribute to the future of the defense industry with projects and competitions aimed at young people. STM will be participating in TEKNOFEST, the world's largest aviation, space, and technology festival, to be held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport from September 17-21.
The World's 32 Fastest Drone Pilots Are Coming to Istanbul
STM, the organizer of the World Drone Cup (WDC), the world's premier drone race, will once again bring together the world's best drone racers at TEKNOFEST this year, as it does every year. At the WDC, TEKNOFEST's largest international competition, pilots will compete on specially designed, challenging courses with drones they designed and assembled themselves. Drone pilots who won in their respective countries will face off in Adana.
Thirty-two competitors from 26 different countries, from South Korea to Spain, Ukraine to France, will compete at the WDC. The competitor who will represent Türkiye at the World Drone Championship will be determined at the Teknofest Drone Championship (TDŞ).
Mini UAVs and National Frigate to Meet with Young People
STM will introduce technologies developed with national engineering power to young people at TEKNOFEST 2025, which aims to raise awareness about technology and science. Models of the TCG ISTANBUL, the fifth ship of Türkiye's first national frigate, the MİLGEM; the STM500, Türkiye's small-scale national submarine design; KARGU, Türkiye's first national strike UAV; and TOGAN, the national surveillance UAV, will be on display at the STM booth.
Children Will Draw Their Dream Technology
During TEKNOFEST, which aims to increase Türkiye's human resources trained in science and engineering, the STM booth will host many activities aimed at young people and children. Visitors to the STM booth will experience the use of FPV drones in the FPV (First Person View) Drone Simulation area. Festival attendees will try to find warships and UAVs with the "Digital Memory Game" at the STM booth. At the STM booth, children will showcase their talents by drawing their dream ships, submarines, aircraft, and UAVs on paper and turning them into reality in the digital space space. Students visiting the STM booth will also be able to experience which engineering field they could work in at STM through the digital competency survey. They will also be able to learn about STM's internship, prospective engineering, and career opportunities.
Güleryüz: We Share Our Vision of Independence with Young People
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz said, “TEKNOFEST is our most important event, bringing Türkiye's technology vision to young generations and expanding our National Technology Initiative. Contributing to our youth's potential in science, engineering, and technology is our most valuable achievement. At STM, we are excited to share the technologies we developed with our national engineering power with young people in Istanbul this year, following the Nicosia and Blue Homeland events. We look forward to welcoming everyone to TEKNOFEST, where we share our vision of independence in defense.”
